This is the final budget before the 2024 General Assembly elections. Several opposition leaders claim it was designed for elections, not their well-being.
West Bengal's chief minister asked at a Birbhum event, "Is it a budget or something? Unemployment is not part of it."
"There is no future in this Union Budget. It is opportunistic, anti-poor, and anti-people. It will not help solve the country's unemployment problem. This Budget has been prepared with an eye to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024" said Banerjee.
